Drake is still flying high after his success on Saturday Night Live, and he stopped by Ellen to recount the whirlwind experience of hosting and performing as the show’s music guest.

When Ellen asked about his relationship with Rihanna, she clarified for the audience that the two were just friends but then had some fun at Drake’s expense. She flashed a few photos in the background showing the two performing “Work” live during Rihanna’s tour, and from their close dancing it seems as though “friendship” is a very loose term. “That’s friendship at its finest, right there,” Drake teased.
It turns out, though, Ellen had the last laugh. One of her crew members was hiding in what turned out to be a fake side table next to Drake’s chair. When the man popped out suddenly in full “Hotline Bling” attire, it caused Drake to shriek and go into what he described as a “vampire block,” with his hands at the ready to attack. “I don’t know what I was ready to do,” he admitted while laughing at himself.
His reaction is sure to fuel the next Drake meme.
